A search of the area revealed that two bundles of marijuana, weighing a combined 47 pounds, had been launched into the U.S.

They say they found a catapult along the fence on the U.S. -Mexico border in Douglas, Ariz. When the Douglas Station agents arrived, the people got away, and agents discovered why they ran. U.S. Border Patrol agents dismantled the catapult system, which was seized by Mexican authorities.

No one was reported arrested in the incident, Fox News reported.

Scepticism over Trump's 'wall' cost simmers among Democrats, border Republican
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is set to receive the report in the coming days, according to Reuters . Trump, however, continues to express certainty about the wall, saying Wednesday: "I wasn't kidding".

The agents dismantled the catapult, which was seized by Mexican authorities. However, he adds, smugglers still tend to use traditional methods to bring drugs across the border through the ports of entry. Often, these operations are responsible for thousands of pounds of drugs coming into the country rather than the smaller amounts that could enter with a catapult system, CNN reported.

Officials have also seen drugs shot over the border with "devices such as air-powered cannons", or dropped into the desert with "ultralight aircraft", according to The Associated Press.
