The Warriors were blasted by the Nuggets in Denver on Monday night - a classic letdown game after an emotional weekend.
The single-team record for threes in a game was tied last night during the Denver Nuggets' matchup with the Golden State Warriors.
Nikola Jokic returned a triple-double (17 points, 21 rebounds and 12 assists) while Kevin Durant scored 25 points for the Warriors, whose ninth defeat of the campaign equals the amount of losses they suffered in the entire regular season previous year.
Nikola Jokic had 17 points, 21 rebounds and 12 assists for the second triple-double of his career.
USA and South Korea agree to deploy THAAD this year
Mattis warned that the USA will not tolerate North Korean aggression while meeting with Defense Minister Han Min Koo, his South Korean counterpart.
By all means, there were a lot of threes being landed, just a few more by the Warriors' competition.
Denver exploded out of the gate, scoring 42 points in the first quarter as Hernangomez drove to the basket early and connected on two triples to have 11 points at the first break. They stunned the Warriors in one of their best performances of the year. Steph Curry was MIA with just 11 points shooting a dismal 4-18 from the field.
At that point, Denver had made 16 three pointers. He is capable three point shooter, he can play both forward spots, and he is a solid defender at both forward spots. Entering Friday, it was No. 1 in the National Basketball Association with an opponent three-point shooting percentage of 31.9 - more than two full percentage points bettter than No. 2 San Antonio. Danilo Gallinari (strained groin), Kenneth Faried (ankle) and Darrell Arthur (knee) all sat out along with Emmanuel Mudiay (back) and Wilson Chandler (illness). When he was on the court, Jokic accounted for 35.3 percent of the Nuggets' assists.
GOLDEN STATE KEY TRENDS: The Warriors are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous contest. Jokic always seems to take the right angle when going up for a rebound or cutting off a pick-and-roll. Four players made at least five. Jokic stuffed the stat sheet early with six points, seven rebounds and four assists while Jamal Murray came off the bench to provide an additional spark. Reserves Ian Clark and Andre Iguodala tried to help the Warriors adding 18 and 15 points respectively.
