The software has been delayed for far too many times already and is also expected to bring some exciting new features such as stand-alone apps, which in itself is a huge transition for as far as smartwatches go.
"Google Fit, the pre-installed fitness app on most Android Wear watches, now lets you track your pace, distance, calories burned and heart rate [a heart rate sensor is needed - ed] as you're walking, running or cycling", the company explains, adding that weight-lifting reps, pushups, situps and squats can also be tracked.
As you'd imagine from the name it's the LG Watch Style which really turns heads.
Unlike the Watch Sport, the Watch Style's specs have not yet been publicly divulged.
United prospect Tuanzebe staying grounded after Mourinho praise
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed which player could leave the Red Devils before the end of January. United added two more later on, as Wigan's spirit and energy drained away.
Now, Android Wear will have its own app store, an on-watch app menu, and independent apps, making it a much more flexible and predictable wrist-mounted computer. The current consensus on Android Wear 2.0, as well as the LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport, appears to be that the new products are a welcome addition to their respective categories, but still feel lacking. While the Wear24 is confirmed to come with 4G LTE, it also include NFC for enabling the Android Pay payments.
Earlier today we told you about the LG Watch Style.
The Watch Sport is a bigger and more expensive LG smartwatch. Here's the Android Wear 2.0 release date and new features following its announcement on 8 February. The company is encouraging developers to make standalone apps for its smartwatches and publish the app directly on the Google PlayStore. It is available in titanium and dark blue, and comes with a high performance elastomer strap, NFC for payments, Global Positioning System for tracking exercise and navigation, a heart rate sensor for your workouts, and cellular connectivity. For connection, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, near field communication (NFC), and Android Pay support, among others.
Both devices come with a rotating side button for quick navigation, which users can turn to read messages or scroll through menus.
Google Assistant on the LG Watch SPort. If you have an LTE-enabled watch, this completely untethers your watch from your smartphone, at least in theory.
The expected price for the LG Watch Sport is $349, while the LG Watch Style will cost $100 less at $249.
