In a horrific incident, a 20-year-old girl, who was on a job-hunt in Delhi, was allegedly raped in a vehicle by a man, who posed himself as a cab driver in South Delhi's Moti Bagh area on Wednesday night.
According to police reports, she went to her destination after searching for a job the whole day and was waiting for the bus at around 9 pm at last night near All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).
The driver of the auto, owned by a man whose father works in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and lives in Kotla Mubarakpur, was arrested from a friend's place in Moti Bagh, barely 100 metres from the spot where the victim last saw him and the vehicle, around 1.30 pm on Thursday. That was when the vehicle bearing an MHA sticker - determined by the police to be fake - pulled up, and the suspect, who was driving it, offered her a lift. "We have seized a vehicle which has an MHA sticker and sent her for medical examination". The accused was identified as Avneesh, a resident of Etah in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested on Thursday early morning. Earlier, he was working as a school cab driver. Pawar is the son of a head constable posted at the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). We will be questioning them about the sticker.
"In the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, at 1.30 am, a motorcycle patrol party of police station South Campus was flagged down by a lady in distress", said joint commissioner R P Upadhyay. She also said a medical examination of the victim had confirmed that she had been raped. The driver has been arrested. The police then traced the owner based on the car's registration number to Kotla Mubarakpur in South Delhi.

It is believed that the victim was raped between 11 pm to 12 am in the Moti Bagh area by the cab driver.
Police added that experts from the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle.
