Apple announced to offer free iPhone 6S battery replacement service for selected models

A few days later, Apple confirmed that "a very small number of iPhone 6 devices" produced in September or October 2015 may spontaneously turn off, which it said is not a "safety problem".

What has made these devices easier to identify is the fact that they fall within a limited serial number range.

After pressing submit, the web page will inform you if your phone is eligible or not for the iPhone 6S Battery Replacement program.

Apple added an online form for checking your iPhone 6s eligibility for a battery replacement program. "We looked for any other factors that could cause an iPhone to shut down unexpectedly", said Apple in a statement.

It's becoming such a big problem that the China Consumers Association (CCA) has issued a formal warning to Apple, demanding action from the company.

El Salvador rattled by magnitude 7.0 offshore quake
According to the USGS, potentially unsafe waves are likely to form and sweep inland, though there are no reports of damage yet. Shaking could be felt in the Nicaraguan capital of Managua as well as the Costa Rican capital San Jose.

However, the watchdog group accused Apple of not admitting to the problems.

Note that you'll need to get your replacement battery from Apple if you qualify, as carriers aren't doing the deed.

The upgraded fix and replace service now allows users to enter their device's serial number to determine whether it is eligible for a free battery replacement.

With more and more iPhones succumbing to serious battery issues, the Chinese government has attacked Apple for failure to meet the basic wireless communication needs of consumers. According to the Chinese authorities, this battery related issue found in the iPhone 6S has also been reportedly found in the Cupertino-based tech giant's other previous -generation iPhone models, including the iPhone 6, iPhone 6Plus and also iPhone 6S Plus.

Apple suggested iPhone 6S owners, who want to know if their devices may shut down, type in the serial number on the iPhone 6S Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues webpage. In a previous post by 9to5Mac, it put out information about the serial numbers on the list. You will see several details about you iPhone 6s including model number, serial number, IMEI, and MEID. It also said customers should call their service provider in advance to check availability for replacements, and to book ahead of time on its website for appointments at the Apple Store.
